First shots of the Gainward Bliss 7800GS 512mb AGP edition. Dual DVI, Dual slot. It is a monster of a card!

There is a review of this card here

This is the only 7800GT card with 20 pixel pipelines available on AGP. Then along with its 512MB of super-fast GDDR3 memory making this the worlds fastest AGP card ever produced. There are only 2500 units available worldwide!!

- GeForce™ 7800 GT GPU running at 425MHz

- 512MB 1200MHz high speed GDDR3 memory

- Superscalar 20-Pipe GPU Architecture

- SILENT Cooling solution

- High-Speed DDR 256-bit Memory Interface

- Dual 400MHz RAMDACs

Here is the Gainward Bliss 512 7800 GS running in a Quicksilver Dual 1.87.

At the moment it's only showing 256 VRAM, but I'm sure it's only a matter of time.........

There is a bit of extra work to do installing this card into a G5. The Heat Sink fixing nuts on the back of the card are too high & stop the card being inserted properly into the AGP slot. So smaller nuts need to be fitted & the heatsink studs shortened. See pictures below.

If you are using dual Apple DVI plugs (which are wider than standard) you're going to have to remove the plastic shroud from the one of them, so both plugs will go in at the same time. This is because as on the PC 6800Ultra/GT before it, the spacing between the DVI plugs does not corespond to the non std width of the Apple Dvi plugs. This is only a problem when using the clear screens and Apple ADC to DVI converters.
